The filmmaker and member of the Royal Spanish Academy, José Luis Borau has been distinguished as Honorary Patron of the Film Classroom Foundation Josep M. Queraltó Collection as president of the Borau Foundation. On this occasion, a ceremony was held last July 8 at the headquarters of the Foundation Borau in which Josep M. Queraltó handed a diploma credited as such and that involves twinning of the two foundations.
Although the main premise is to defend the film technique, the founder of Suministros Kelonik, collector and restorer of film material born in Vallbona de les Monges (Lleida), wanted the first Honorary Patron of the entity that he presides was José Luis Borau for his outstanding professional as well as his human qualities. This appointment is part of a close collaboration between the two entities have common objectives, including the defense of the Seventh Art, in a case focusing on the artistic side and the other in technology. For the exhibition that made Josep M. Queraltó in University of Malaga in April 2010, José Luis Borau donated the posters to the Collection of four films: “Furtivos” (1975), “Hay que matar a B” (1974), “Camada negra” (1977) where he participated as co-writer and "Tata mía" (1986). The films of José Luis Borau, president of the Academy of Arts and Sciences Motion of Spain from 1994 to 1999, also includes the titles “En el río” (1960) “Brandy” (1963), “Crimen de doble filo” (1965), “La Sabina” (1979), “Río abajo” (1984), “Niño nadie” (1997) y “Leo” (2000). In February 2008 Borau was named an academician of the Royal Spanish Academy, covering the vacant left Fernando Fernan Gomez in the chair B
Film Classroom Foundation Josep M. Queraltó Collection was created to promote the technical side of film and especially for the launch of a museum interactive education for all public showing of film history and will inspire new generations. Josep M. Queraltó Collection comprises more than 15,000 pieces collected over 35 years by Josep M. Queraltó. It is considered one of the private collections of film major in Europe. The twinning of the two foundations is an example to follow and bring together efforts in the film industry to continue to develop and grow in the future and will inspire all who love this profession as well as being an art is a technological innovation.
