The Catalan Film Academy consists of a General Assembly and a Board of Academy Executives. The Board of Academy Executives is represented by ten foundational members. They assist to the president in his executive and administrative functions.

The Board of Academy Executives appointed Montse Majench as a Director. She organizes, coordinates and supervises all different services that the Academy offers.
Joel Joan Juvé
Director, actor, screenwriter and author. President of the Catalan Film Academy. He directed Sola com el poeta in 2007 and Excuses! in 2003. He directed and write the SERIES DE TV Porca Misèria and Plats bruts, which were rewarded with several awards. He and Víctor Alexandre are the authors of the plays Despullats and Jo no sóc espanyol. As an actor, he performed in several features, such as Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Joan’s Excuses!, Maria Ripoll’s Tortilla Soup, Daniel Monzón’s El corazón del guerrero, Gerardo Herrero’s Las razones de mis amigos, or Manel Huerga’s Salvador. He has acted in plays as well for several directors such as Javier Daute, Àlex Rigola, Calixto Bieito, Sergi Belbel or Josep M. Mestres.
Montse Ribé Parellada
Designer, sculptor and creator of special make-up. She’s the co-owner of DDT Efectos Especiales since 1997. She won an Oscar award for the Best Make-Up for Guillermo del Toro’s feature El laberinto del fauno. Other distinguished films she worked on are Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy, Jaume Balagueró’s Frágiles, Daniel Monzón’s La caja de Kovak, Alejandro Amenábar’s Mar adentro, Pedro Almodóvar’s La mala educación and Hable con ella, Antonip Banderas’ El camino de los ingleses or Juan Antonio Bayona’s El orfanato. In 2008, she worked in Pedro Almodóvar’s Los abrazos rotos and Alejandro Amenábar’s Ágora.
Rosa M. Fusté Parellada
Producer and post-producer for commercials, films and TV series. She is the director of Apuntolapospo, S.L. She has produced TV series, Mirall trencat and Catalunya des de l’aire, feature films, El coronel Macià and Tuya siempre, and she has produced as well commercials for Freixenet, Danone, La Caixa and ONCE.
Pep Armengol Comes
Casting director. Member of the International Casting Directors Network of the European Film Promotion. He is the casting director of Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Tom Tykwer’s El perfume, Cédric Klapish’s Una casa de locos and Sigfrid Monleon’s El Consol de Sodoma.
Jesús Escosa Gómez
Cinematographer. Vice President of Asociación Española de Directores de Fotografía. He worked on several features, short films, TV films, TV commercials and TV series. He’s the cinematographer of Ventura Pons’ Morir (o no) and Amic/Amat.
Ricard Figueras Marco
Graduated in the Escola de Mitjans Audiovisuals de Barcelona. From 1977 to 1983 he worked as a producer director and in 1993 he created his own producer company, In Vitro Films, which produces features, TV series and TV films. From 2006 to 2009 he directed the Catalan producers association Barcelona Audiovisuals.
Enric Gomà i Ribas
Graduated in Catalan Philology and screenwriter for TV shows and TV series. He wrote several books and collaborates on the medias. He worked on the TV series Poble Nou, Oh, Espanya!, Temps de silence, La Via Augusta, Amar en tiempos revueltos, the TV show Caçadors de paraulas and the feature Dalí.
Manuel Huerga i Guerrero
He has directed television programmes that have become legendary (Estoc de pop, Arsenal, Max Headroom Show), produced a range of live events (opening and closing ceremonies at the Olympic Games in Barcelona, the IX Goya Awards in Madrid and the European Cinema Awards gala), an opera (Gaudí, 2004) and an oratorio (Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien with La Fura dels Baus, 1997). He was director of BTV from 1997 until 2003. As a film maker, he has received awards for both his career (Extraordinary Film Award by the Catalan Government 1990) and for his documentaries (Gaudí, 1988; Buñuel, 1989; Les variacions Gould, 1992) as well as for his feature length films (Antártida, 1995; Salvador, 2006). The most recent award he received was the Gaudí award for the Best Film for Television 2012 for 14 d’abril: Macià contra Companys.
Elisa Plaza Valdero
Producer, graduated in Biology at the UAB. She started working at TV3 in 1982. She was the executive producer for several film feature and TV films. She produced Carles Bosch and Josep M Domènech’s Balseros, Josep M. Forn El coronel Macià and Rafa Cortés’ Yo. She has produced several TV films as well, such as La princesa del polígono, Positius, Presumptes implicats or La Mari.
Paco Poch i Sabarich
He has worked as a culture photographer and director of production. He has produced several feature-length fiction films and documentaries for cinema and television, such as La leyenda del tiempo and Cravan vs Cravan by Isaki Lacuesta, Innisfree by José Luís Guerin, Gaudí by Manuel Huerga, La senyora and Els papers d’Aspern by Jordi Cadena, and Durruti by Jean Louis Commolli. In 1991 in Barcelona he received a National Cinematography Award. He has also worked as a cultural manager in a variety of areas.
Jordi Roigé i Solé
Degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he is a producer, editor and lecturer in Cinema at the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication (Ramon Llull University). Director of the production and publishing company Utopia Global and a member of the Board of the PAC (Audiovisual Producers of Catalonia). In 2011 he wrote and directed the film Amor col·lateral; he co-produced the feature-length animation Floquet de Neu (2011), and was producer, director and screenwriter of the documentaries Rock & Cat, Més enllà de les cançons (2006) and Pere Tarrés (2009). Since October 2009 he has published DeCine a monthly magazine devoted to the audiovisual industry in Catalonia and since 2004, Castells, a bimonthly publication about the latest news in the human castles scene. He has been the promoter of the Castells’ candidature as a World Heritage element.
Montse Majench i Pueyo
